I am sponsored by Royal Arabians.
My artist is Scottsdale Mayor, David Ortega.
I am here to support The Arabian Breeder's World Cup.
And I have a story for you.......
How cool is it that Scottsdale Mayor David Ortega joined our Stallion Stampede to bring one of our stallions to life? His horse is named “Scottsdale OT” or just “OT” for short. Mayor Ortega named the horse after Scottsdale Old Town, the original square-mile township where legends began and remains today, the vibrant walkable center of nightlife, award- winning restaurants, traditional and contemporary art galleries, hotels, and one-of-a-kind shops.
Mayor Ortega has been a Rotarian for thirty years, so he readily volunteered to bestow an Arizona sunset, highlight historic landmarks and cloak “OT” with the majestic McDowell Mountains. Mayor Ortega and the entire City Council are enthusiastic supporters of equine culture in Scottsdale and the Stallion Stampede!
“OT” is sponsored by the Royal Arabians of Scottsdale and part of the proceeds of his sale will benefit the American Heart Association and the Rotary Club of Scottsdale Foundation. Mayor Ortega is thrilled to have those organizations standing with this project for this inaugural year.
Mayor Ortega has deep family roots in Scottsdale and many generations more in southern Arizona. After college, he apprenticed with Bennie Gonzales, the architect for the City Hall, Civic Library and Center for Performing Arts. Over four decades, as a professional architect,
he designed many landmark buildings in Old Town Scottsdale.
According to Mayor Ortega, “OT” has a great personality, brings on pleasant conversation and has the get- up-and-go to have an enjoyable time in the “West’s Most Western Town.” Bring “OT” to your corral, garden or office and benefit Scottsdale too!
Royal Arabians is a full-service Arabian Horse breeding and training facility with three locations. In Mesa, our Breeding Facility, on Cactus Rd in Scottsdale, our Halter Facility, and on Rio Verde in Scottsdale our Performance Facility all poised to service your specific needs.
It’s our passion to breed the best attributes of the Arabian Horse, by breeding the best examples of the Arabian breed available today. We believe the Arabian Horse’s we breed should not only be beautiful, with a distinctive, refined head shape, alert expression, and beautiful eyes, but should demonstrate the athletic, speed, and endurance qualities of the breed that make it one of the most popular breeds in the world today. With a long history of having close human relationships the high-spirited Arabian horse should not only be beautiful, but should also be good natured, quick to learn and willing to please.
At Royal Arabians, it’s our mission to breed the best examples of the Arabian horse, and to provide a home for them to flourish and grow to their maximum potential. Our breeding program ensures both beauty and athleticism by breeding some of the best examples of both Halter and Performance Arabian Horses available in the world today.
The inspiration for the Arabian Breeders World Cup can be traced to the hearts of several American breeders, and their love for the Arabian horse. They happened to be attending a European horse show that was more than a competition – it was a celebration – and the joy and the excitement they experienced as they watched the horses presented was… inspiring. One breeder said to the others, “ I wish we had a show like this in the United States.”
The Scottdale Arabian Horse Show is a world-class horse show showcasing over 2,000 horses from around the world while providing entertainment for the whole family.
Since 1955 the Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has set the pace in the Arabian horse world. The first show was held at the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel which was a beautiful setting for a horse show. The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show was a first class show from the very first day.
After the show's beginnings at the Arizona Biltmore, Ann McCormick bought 150 acres in Scottsdale and made it into the horse facility known as Paradise Park which served the needs of the show for many years.
Since that time, the show has been held at WestWorld in Scottsdale. It has grown from 50 horses to nearly 2400 horses bringing top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world competing for a chance at winning. A win at Scottsdale can mean big money in the breeding barns.
The 2023 Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is proud to benefit these worthwhile charities: Arabian Horsemen's Distress Fund, Arabian Horse Promotional Fund, Friends of Vail Foundation, Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge, Hoofbeatz USA, Horses Help, March of Dimes, JDRF, Scottsdale Community College, Stallion Stampede, and Youth For Troops.
