I am sponsored by Desert Sky Arabians.
My artist is Wendy Morris Tank.
I am here to support American Heart Association.
And I have a story for you.......
The latest stallion to join the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show Stallion Stampede is the magnificent horse Stardom Sky. He is brought to life by acclaimed local artist, and horse breeder, Wendy Morris-Tank. Wendy has brought to life two other iconic Stallions in the Stampede, Desert Prince and Assad. All three horses bring power and beauty for us to enjoy.
Like Assad, Wendy has patterned Stardom Sky after an actual multi-champion horse that she knows well. She had a request to bring this horse to life and loved every minute of it. Stardom Sky is a dark bay horse with beautiful metallic highlights. You can imagine that instead of magic in his food that gave Assad his incredible presence and coat color, Stardom Sky somehow took in bronze to give him that amazing metallic look and strength.
The owners of the horse that is the inspiration for Stardom Sky are members of the Arabian Horse Community in Scottsdale just as Wendy is. Wendy and her friends in the horse world have loved, and worked with horses their whole lives. As an artist, Wendy enjoys bringing the majesty of these magnificent animals to people both in and out of the horse community. She has done that in many ways over the years. Wendy is very sought after for her talents.
Even though Stardom Sky will be the mirror image of an actual horse, he represents all the best in the horse communities that show love and appreciation for these magnificent animals. It is wonderful that people like Wendy can immortalize these horses, which become such cherished parts of their lives. The Stardom Sky that Wendy has brought to life will inspire all who see him for generations to come. That is what the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show Stallion Stampede is all about. Doing good work for our community that will keep us all smiling for many years.
We've invested in world class fillies and mares. Our first acquisition was Jewel of Marwan OFW who won Reserve Junior Filly Scottsdale 2019 and brought home the Supreme Silver Championship at the 2019 World's Breeders Cup in Las Vegas. Our next acquisition was Mistic Dominic HVP. This extraordinary filly won Unanimous Scottsdale Arabian Junior Filly Championship in 2020. Later in 2020, we acquired AJ Kharena, 2018 Brazilian National Silver Champion Sr. Mare who made her mark at the 2020 US Nationals.
AJ Kharena won Unanimous Scottsdale Arabian Senior Mare Championship in 2021. Our acquisition of EL TINO, awarded the Leading Sire at the Brazilian Nationals for a record 6 consecutive years, gives us a World Class Stallion to join our champion mares and enable us to reach our goal of breeding award winning Arabian horses.
We’re striving to create a world free of heart disease and stroke - a world where everyone can achieve the best possible health - and it starts right here in Phoenix. From developing initiatives that make healthier food options available in all neighborhoods, to protecting our kids from the dangers of smoking and advocating for raising the tobacco sale age to 21 – together we are making it easier to be healthy where we live, work, learn and play.
The Scottdale Arabian Horse Show is a world-class horse show showcasing over 2,000 horses from around the world while providing entertainment for the whole family.
Since 1955 the Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has set the pace in the Arabian horse world. The first show was held at the grounds of the Arizona Biltmore Hotel which was a beautiful setting for a horse show. The Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show was a first class show from the very first day.
After the show's beginnings at the Arizona Biltmore, Ann McCormick bought 150 acres in Scottsdale and made it into the horse facility known as Paradise Park which served the needs of the show for many years.
Since that time, the show has been held at WestWorld in Scottsdale. It has grown from 50 horses to nearly 2400 horses bringing top owners, trainers and breeders from around the world competing for a chance at winning. A win at Scottsdale can mean big money in the breeding barns.
The 2023 Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show is proud to benefit these worthwhile charities: Arabian Horsemen's Distress Fund, Arabian Horse Promotional Fund, Friends of Vail Foundation, Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge, Hoofbeatz USA, Horses Help, March of Dimes, JDRF, Scottsdale Community College, Stallion Stampede, and Youth For Troops.
